Ready for the cold / bereit für die Kälte

We had a wonderful warm and sunny fall until now but it already is very chilly in the morning. Cold enough for me to catch a bad cold in mid September! Thus, I needed to finish my Cashmere scarf (I previously wrote about the yarn). Finally, I changed the pattern once more and ended with a crocheted cable scarf. It took a while until I got used to crocheting loose as I usually crochet very tight. But it was worth it. The scarf is wonderfully soft and keeps the whole neck warm.

Where else would you decorate a scarf?

Wir hatten bis jetzt einen wundervoll warmen und sonnigen Herbst, aber morgens ist es bereits sehr kühl. Für mich war es kalt genug um mir Mitte September eine schwere Erkältung einzufangen! Also musste ich meinen Kaschmir-Schal fertigstellen (über das Garn habe ich bereits berichtet). Letztendlich habe ich das Muster nochmals verändert und habe schließlich im Zopfmuster gehäkelt. Es hat etwas gedauert, bis ich mich ans lockere Häkeln gewöhnt hatte, sonst sind meine Maschen recht fest. Aber die Mühe hat sich gelohnt. Der Schal ist wunderbar weich und hält den gesamten Hals warm.

Not long until Christmas/nicht mehr lang bis Weihnachten

It’s only two months until Christmas and I started to work on the first gift. I found the pattern on Craftsy. It’s a very cute puppy I will give to a little girl who loves animals and is into the typical girl’s stuff (what explains the pink scarf as well as the heart and the bow button in the back). I changed the pattern for the scarf. Originally, it was just a collar but I like the three hook shape better.

Es sind nur noch zwei Monate bis Weihnachten und ich habe mit dem ersten Geschenk angefangen. Die Anleitung habe ich auf Craftsy gefunden. Es ist ein sehr niedlicher Welpe, den ich einem Mädchen schenken werde, das Tiere und die üblichen „Mädchensachen“ liebt (was das rosa Tuch, das Herz und den Schleifenknopf hinten erklärt). Die Anleitung für das Tuch habe ich ein wenig verändert. Ursprünglich war es nur ein Halsband, aber mir gefällt die dreieckige Form besser.

cell phone cover/ Handyhülle

After a few weeks without crocheting I wanted to start again with a smaller item. Currently, I am using two cell phones and thought about crocheting a cover for them. One cover has a “window” for seeing the screen without putting the cell out of the cover. The other cell is one of the modern full screen ones and quite sensitive. It happened that it was unlocked in my purse because something pushed against the screen. I decided to crochet a complete cover for this phone. The colorful covers have another advantage: finding the cells in my huge purse is a lot easier. I just need to attach a button for closing the covers.

Nach ein paar Wochen ohne zu häkeln wollte ich mit etwas Kleinerem starten. Zurzeit benutze ich zwei Handys und ich überlegte mir, für sie eine Hülle zu häkeln. Eine Hülle hat ein „Fenster“, durch das man den Bildschirm sehen kann, ohne das Handy aus der Hülle nehmen zu müssen. Das andere Handy ist eines der neumodischen mit komplettem Bildschirm und sehr empfindlich. Es ist schon vorgekommen, dass es in meiner Tasche entsichert wurde, weil irgendwas gegen den Bildschirm drückte. Daher beschloss ich, für dieses Telefon eine Vollhülle zu häkeln. Die farbenfrohen Hüllen  haben noch einen weiteren Vorteil: Es ist nun wesentlich einfacher, die Telefone in meiner rieseigen Tasche zu finden. Den Verschluss muss ich noch fertigstellen.
